Each room has a meter telling you how many enemies there are left to clear the room. ![]() You work your way through randomised rooms, clearing out enemies until you find the staircase to the next floor. The gameplay could be described as a mix of an old-school first-person shooter and a rogue-like. Prepare for a lot of run and gunning and to curse up a storm. When you wake up you’re armed to the teeth, and you’re surrounded by pyramids filled with things that want you dead. You are playing as the titular ‘Redneck’ who, through a dune buggy accident ends up in Egypt, you’ve been taken, wrapped in bandages like a mummy and made immortal. The community is great and sometimes merciless, but I've made lots of friends and probably know most of the people on the leaderboard and helped most of them reach their ranks.The title of Immortal Redneck somehow does the contents of the game a disservice, yet at the same time, it is quite accurate. If you don't enable the Twitch integration you're missing out on a lot of fun. I'm really glad they gave it for free since the game truly needs more love and new players. I should know since I have over 387 hours in this game and have been the world record holder in the Infinite Tower on the Twitch integrated leaderboard for 2.5 years (and since I stopped playing I only dropped to second place). ![]() The game is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. Your audience decides your fate and helps or hinders your progress. If you have a Twitch account, the game has one of the best Twitch integrations to date.Īfter beating the game (all three pyramids), there's an Infinite Tower and that's where the fun really starts and the difficulty really spikes. Still, if you like it, I recommend getting the Steam version because GOG has v1.3.3 instead of v1.3.4 (the last version, that has some bug fixes). ![]()
